2011 Ford F-150 Remains the Number One Vehicle in the USA

There are few things in the world that can sustain a long prolonged run being the best at anything. The New York Yankees, Tiger Woods, McDonald's, James Cameron, and the Bible are a few things have had a nice run at being number one, now you can add another to that list. For the 34th straight year, the Ford F-150 remains the top selling vehicle in America.

The big question though is how? How has the F-150 managed to sustain dominance for this long? Well quite simply put, brand loyalty. Tell a Ford F-150 driver that your Chevy pickup truck is better and you're liable to get punched, because Ford truck drivers provide some of the best brand loyalty in the business.

The loyalty isn't without reason though, as Ford has provided the best truck on the market. For the 2011 model year the F-150 introduced some new engines for their stalwart truck, two turbocharged diesel engines, and a 6.2L gas V8. The top of the line engine produces 735lb-ft of torque at 1,600rpms with 390hp at 2,800rpm. The V8 produces 360hp and 380lb-ft of torque at 4,250rpms. This high torque at low rpm combo makes for perfectly smooth and powerful towing and gives the Ford F-150 best in class towing (with the top of the line engine and a towing package tops out at 17,000lbs). The F-150 can also haul a lot in the truck bed which can hold up to 2,000lbs of whatever you can throw in it. Controlling that kind of weight is difficult which is why F-150 comes with trailer sway control, integrated trailer brake controller, AdvanceTrac with RSC, and a electronic locking rear differential. The towing and hauling alone make the F-150 a must have for any serious truckers looking to do hard work and heavy lifting, but it's the other benefits and features that make it a vehicle for everyone.

With the 4x4 Supercab you can comfortably seat up to six people in the F-150. Moving around in a large vehicle is generally a hassle, but with great visibility, excellent large rear-view mirrors, and a rear-view camera for reverse maneuvers, driving in tight areas is easy. The F-150 also possesses a steel safety cage and Ford's personal safety system, which integrates all safety features to work in unison, to provide the safest F-150 yet. In addition to those features, Ford pretty much offers any option you can think of from satellite radio to a navigation system making your F-150 as unique as you. With the EcoBoost engine option you can get up to 22mpgs but overall across the engine spread you get a spread from 16-23mpgs (highway). When it is all said and done though, you have a vehicle that is a tough as Chuck Norris, more refined than Scarlett Johansson, and more customizable options than a LEGO set, that when you combine these features you get America's bestselling vehicle.
